Necessity is the "mother of invention". However, life sometimes confronts mankind with a smack of challenge that stimulates imagination and determination as never before. It was in this environment that Unique Engineering Concepts, Inc. was conceived in May 1989.
After almost sixteen years of service with a large conveyor and machinery manufacturer in Central Virginia and a glass container manufacturer in Southern California, Unique Engineering's founder was confronted with a life changing challenge of starting a new career.
This was primarily the necessity that prompted the "need for invention." Years of constant exposure in the secondary container handling area of the glass container manufacturing industry, coupled with an even greater variety of challenge with various PET, beverage, brewery & foods applications as a project manager caused the realization that there was a relatively simplistic function akin to all these industries that needed improvement.
The task of effectively single filing a mass flow of PET, glass or metal containers whether in the beverage, brewery, food or container manufacturing industry, is vital in order to have a highly efficient production operation in these often extremely high speed systems. Heretofore, the single filing process was aided by converging walls or rails of overlapping rows of round rollers or spherical beads that rotated, thus giving a moving surface, ad the cylindrical containers passed through.
Unique Engineering's idea of substituting polygonal shaped decagons in lieu of the standard round rollers or spherical beads was God sent. These decagons give additional "vibration," "rotation," and "moment of movement" that significantly aid the combining/single filing process.
Our only product line is the Vibratory Combiner Rails with three (3) different size decagons to accommodate a wide spectrum of container sizes, and now two (2) spherical-edged round beads for those who prefer this type of rail. We constantly strive to improve components and our manufacturing process in order to keep costs down and performance up!
